CrumbControl Privacy Policy

CrumbControl ("the app") is a baking inventory and cost-tracking app published by nawd ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the app handles your information. In short: the app keeps your data on your own device. We do not run servers that collect it.

Data you create stays on your device

Your ingredients, recipes, stock levels, costs, and bake history are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database. The app does not synchronise this data to us or to any other device. We have no access to it.

If you have Apple's iCloud Backup switched on for your device, your device backup may include the app's data. That backup is made by iOS, is held in your own iCloud account, and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy — we neither create it nor can we read it.

No purchases, no advertising

CrumbControl is free and contains no subscriptions or in-app purchases, so we never receive payment information about you. The app shows no ads and includes no advertising or attribution SDKs.

Barcode scanning

When you scan a product barcode to add an ingredient, the app sends the barcode number to Open Food Facts, a free public food database, to look up the product name, brand, category, and pack size. This is the only request the app makes to any server.

Only the barcode number and the app's name and version are sent. Camera images never leave your device — the barcode and any label text are read on-device — and nothing identifying you or your pantry is included. Open Food Facts receives your device's IP address as part of any ordinary web request; their handling of it is governed by the Open Food Facts privacy policy. Scanning is optional: adding an ingredient by hand makes no network request at all.

Notifications

With your permission, the app schedules local low-stock reminders on your device. These are generated on-device and are not sent to us.

No account, no tracking by us

The app does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email, or contacts. We do not run our own analytics and do not track you across other apps or websites.

Children

CrumbControl is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Your choices

You can decline notifications, and remove all app data by deleting the app.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
